And the answer is that it’s all about the light! This magical gold glow only happens at specific times of the day. Photographers call this time the Golden Hour. The Golden Hour is the first and last hour/s of every day: one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset. And it’s the best time to take photos.

And this is the reason why I suggest that all of you schedule a sunrise or sunset photo shoot. Because this time of the day helps you look amazing and magical. In this time, the light is very soft and it will not create harsh shadows on your faces or dark circles under your eyes or nose.

You may have noticed that I love a warm sunny photos. It is because this is the most beautiful time of the day. In the Golden Hour, the sun is low in the sky and it adds a golden hue and warmth to the photographs. Also it can create a magnificent glow that can not be created at any other time of the day.

And this time span can also provide a good chance for a more intimate photo shoot for your family. During the morning Golden Hour, people are usually still having breakfast, and in the evening, when sunset is approaching, they usually go home. 

How to avoid mistakes with the Golden Hour? After all, the length of the day is different in varying seasons. In the late spring throughout the summer, the sunset is really late, but in the late summer through the early autumn, it’s much earlier. You can also take into account the daytime sleep of your children, and choose the time that is most convenient for you: spring, fall, summer, winter… sunrise or sunset.

I must say that the best time for a sunrise photo session is usually Fall, when it’s not so early. And if you’re a morning person, the perfect sunrise time for your family photo shoot would be, the exact opposite, early spring, when nature comes alive.
